Belum sampai 24 jam, akun Twitter resmi @ManUtd sudah meraih followers sebanyak 340 ribu. Sedangkan Facebook Fanpage resmi United yang sudah dibuat lebih dulu, sampai saat ini sudah mencapai 34 juta likes.

Dikutip dari situs resmi manutd.com Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold, mengatakan:

“Connecting with our fans is a key part of the club’s strategy. We have invested a lot of time and resource into providing the best media offering for its fans, which is evident from the recent MUTV acquisition and today’s Twitter and Sina Weibo launches.”

Dibuatnya akun twitter resmi United ini bisa dibilang sangat terlambat, selain umur twitter di tahun 2013 ini sudah yang ke 7 tahun, banyak klub seperti Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid hingga Persija dan Persib pun sudah memiliki akun twitter resmi lebih dulu.
